A Midsummer Night's Dream

Available As (Both Enroll in this Same Course):

NOTE:

Although we will post this course as an AYOP class as well as live, you wil get the most out of the class if you can do it live.   The live class will be largely discussion and videos and possibly some review games.  Most online class activities are not in a format that can be recorded for AYOP use.  We may post some resources such as videos or Quizizz games to the course page as time allows for AYOP kids, but students are encouraged to use the live class whenever possible.

Course Description

Book:  A Midsummer Night's Dream

Course is based on the free teacher's guide provided by Core Knowledge.  Parents will have access to this guide for their use.

The students and parents will have access to an ebook on our school subscription, so everyone will have the same copy.  This ebook is an ABRIDGED version most suitable for upper elementary/middle school.

Older students may attend the class and use an UNABRIDGED copy of the book to make the course more challenging.  They will still benefit from the class discussion.

There will be a combination of discussion questions, videos, vocabulary, and review games in the live class.  There MAY be some discussion on writing if time allows.

This live class will also include some READER'S THEATER as the class goes over the play.

There are additional activities in the teacher guide that you may want to do at home if there is not time to cover it in the live class.

All writing or grammar work will be assigned and graded by the PARENT.  Some guidance and checklists will be provided on the course page.

This is a short unit, and we will run three Shakespeare units back to back in this time slot if you would like to take the other courses.  There are a couple of other literature units running in a different time slot.  Sign up for each individually.

LIVE VS. AYOP

It is HIGHLY recommended that you take this class live, if at all possible.   You will get the most out of the discussion if you can attend live.  Most of the live class will not be recorded, since we can't record in the format much of the class will be.

We may post some helpful resources on an AYOP class page, but it won't be the entire experience the live class students are able to have.
