• ENROLLMENT INFORMATION FOR 2024-25 COMING SOON!

Please check back for the 2024-25 Parent Pre-Enrollment Course.

We will have that available the end of May.

(Both live and AYOP courses will enroll on this same site in 2024-25.)

Please note that the courses below are for the Volunteer Build Team to work on and are not yet ready for student enrollment.  We are rebuilding the courses on our new server, and need to build most courses from the bottom up in the new format.

Parent Pre-Enrollment Course will have information on how to join the VOLUNTEER BUILD TEAM.

Helping with build will help us have as many classes available as possible for your kids.  Even classes we had last year need to be rebuilt on the new site.  It is simple data entry with tutorials.  This frees up the Volunteer Admin Team to do more difficult tasks.

Currently, build team projects are paused as admin works on the Parent Course and Teacher Recruit, but we expect to have more available to work on by the end of June.  They will need to be worked on this summer to have classes ready by fall.

    • VOLUNTEER TEACHERS NEEDED FOR 2024-25

TEACHING:  Several of our experienced volunteer teachers are not able to return this year.  (Kids aging out, etc.)  We need the next generation of volunteer teachers to step up in order to keep our live classes running!  We mentor you and offer training.  Slides and class resources are provided for you, so it is easy to teach.  Most classes are only 1-3 hours per week, so it isn’t a huge commitment.

Please consider volunteering to teach!  Everyone working together makes our classes possible.

Please contact support@virtualhomeschoolgroup.org to learn more about volunteering to teach.

    • VOLUNTEER TEACHERS PENDING FOR LIVE CLASSES

We have volunteer teachers for the classes below.  Details are pending, so we cannot yet give times.

If you have contacted us already and don't see your class listed below, please contact the help desk again to make sure we have all of your information.

We encourage teachers to finalize class times ASAP so we can get the classes listed.

We need to limit the number of classes that run in a single time slot.  It is first come, first serve if you need to teach in a specific time.

Please contact support@virtualhomeschoolgroup.org to learn more about volunteering to teach.

SCIENCE CLASSES - STILL NEED TEACHER

      • We still need teachers for all science classes.  Some of last year's teachers are not able to return, so please consider teaching.

MATH CLASSES - DETAILS PENDING, BUT HAVE TEACHER

      • Saxon Math 76 (will be using 4th edition) - Grades 6 or 7
      • Saxon Algebra 1/2 (will be using 3rd edition) - Grades 7 or 8
      • Saxon Algebra 1 (will be using 3rd edition) - Grades 8 or 9

LITERATURE CLASSES - DETAILS PENDING, BUT HAVE TEACHER

These are abridged versions most suitable for middle school.  Older students may join the class and read an unabridged version outside of class to make it more challenging.  These are individual book units that will run back to back.  Students may choose to take one or all three.  Each unit is 8-13 weeks long (depending on the book) and will meet twice a week.

      • A Midsummer Night's Dream
      • The Tempest
      • The Tragedy of Julius Caesar

HISTORY CLASSES - DETAILS PENDING, BUT HAVE TEACHER

      • Mystery of History 1, Third Edition
    • AYOP (At Your Own Pace) CLASSES THAT COULD RUN ONLY IF ENOUGH HELP IS RECEIVED ON VOLUNTEER BUILD TEAM

When building out the courses on the new site, we are focusing first on the live classes.  Any classes that are running live could be taken as AYOP as well.  (You may not be able to work ahead of the live class, but we'll have homework ready as live students are taking it.  Whether homework could be ready at a faster rate than that will depend how much help we get from the Volunteer Build Team.)

We will be posting the easier volunteer tasks to the Volunteer Build Team throughout the summer so the Volunteer Admin Team can focus on the more difficult site management tasks as well as enrollment and volunteer training/recruiting.

Please understand that helping on ANY task we post will directly affect ALL of the classes that are on the site.  You may not be able to work on the classes your kids are wanting to take because they may involve more technical tasks.  However, working on the tasks posted to the Volunteer Build Team in other classes or general site settings will free up the Volunteer Admin Team and most experienced volunteers to focus on the tasks that would get YOUR classes enrolling.

This is a cooperative, and all of us (even Admin Team) are volunteers.  We have no paid staff.  What is available depends on YOU!

Please see the courses above in the live sections to view options that can also be taken AYOP.  You are welcome to take them independently if you are not able to attend live.  Most will have either recorded lectures or youtube resources or will record the class for you to view.

Classes that are ONLY available AYOP are listed below.  They are not offered live.  These do need some build team work, and will only be offered if we get enough help during the summer to get them rebuilt on the new site.

      • Saxon Algebra 2
      • Saxon Advanced Math
      • Apologia Physics
      • ASL 1

Although these are still on the old site, we are trying to phase out the old site to minimize costs.  If we have kids still taking classes there this year, we will need extra donations to have enough to cover extra storage on both servers.
